KICD was formed in 2002 as a subsidiary of its parent company Kikiktagruk
Inupiat Corporation (KIC) headquartered in Kotzebue, Alaska.
Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation (KIC) as a village corporation was created
pursuant to the terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971
(ANCSA). There are currently 1,953 KIC Shareholders.
